Jean H. Meyer, 84, died on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at her residence in Maplewood. Services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. at the Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vaux Hall Rd., Union.

Interment will be in B'nai Jeshurun Cemetery, Hillside. Born in London, England, Mrs. Meyer lived in Maplewood since 1952. She was an executive secretary in the Construction Division of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey at Newark International Airport for 25 years, retiring in 1993. Previously, she was employed with John F. Murray Company of London and McGraw Hill Publishing of New York City. Mrs. Meyer was a graduate of the London Secretarial School.

She was the beloved wife of the late Mortimer W. Meyer Jr; devoted mother of Robert, Joe and the late David and dear sister of Daphne Gerard and Helen Smith. She is also survived by seven loving grandchildren.
