I wanted to pass along the news that Lona Mayer died
this past Saturday evening in her home in River Vale,
NJ. She had struggled with Parkinson's Disease for many
years, but the past several have been particularly
difficult as the disease got progressively worse. I was
in NJ a month ago and visited Lona. At that time, she
could acknowledge people and speak a bit, walk a bit,
and sit up. This past Friday when I visited her, she
was bed-ridden, didn't know that anyone was there and
didn't even open her eyes.
I would like to share this news with any PA colleagues
who might have known Lona. There would probably be a
memorial services for Lona late next month or early
December - will advise when I hear more.
