Richard F. Lohn
AGE: 82 CARTERET
Richard F. Lohn, 82, of Carteret, died on Friday,
June 5, 2009, at Robert Wood Johnson University
Hospital, Rahway. He was born in Flushing, NY, and lived
in Carteret for 46 years.
Richard was employed by Port Authority of NY and NJ for
31 years retiring as Police Sergeant. He was a member
of "The Greatest Generation"; a US Navy World War II
veteran, serving one tour in Japan. He enjoyed watching
the financial markets and traveling throughout Europe
with his wife.
Richard was predeceased by his wife, Annette (Abruzzo)
Lohn and is survived by his son, Richard Lohn and his
wife Anne Marie of Madison, Conn.; two daughters,
Valerie Ratner and her husband Robert of Westfield and
Allyson Fletcher and her husband Richard of Kinnelon;
four grandchildren, Andrew Ratner, Michael Ratner,
Claudia Lohn and Evan Lohn and his brother William Lohn.
The Funeral Service will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday,
June 9, 2009, at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret
Ave., Carteret, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven
Cemetery in East Hanover. Visiting hours will be on
Monday, 2-4 and 7- 9 p.m.
