JODICE Vincent Albert, 75, of Great Oak Circle,
Sunset Beach, NC died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in the
Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center, Wilmington, NC.Mr.
Jodice was born on September 1, 1933 in Jersey City, NJ.
He was the son of the late Ralph and Veronica Santino
Jodice.
He retired after 38 years
as a stationary engineer with Port Authority New
York/New Jersey. He also served in the U.S. Army.Mr.
Jodice was an active member in his community. He was a
member of Knights of Columbus, Dumont Volunteer
Ambulance Corps in Dumont, NJ from 1971-1992 where we
volunteered as Santa Claus for local hospitals. He also
volunteered locally as Santa Claus for Breakfast with
Santa at Sea Trail, and local restaurants, Tony's,
Roberto's and Joey O's. He served as a member of the
Wilmington VHF Club for 3 years and President of
Brunswick County Amateur Radio Society (1997-2004) with
his call sign being "N2VJ." Mr. Jodice was also a member
for 5 years with the Brunswick County Search and Rescue.
Surviving are his wife
Lorena Otto Jodice; son, Vincent A. Jodice, Jr. and
special friend Lisa Paolantonio and her daughter, Gabby,
of Brunswick, NY; a daughter, Lorena Finnerty, and
husband Pat, and a granddaughter, Kayla Lorena Finnerty,
of Sunset Beach, NC; brother, Ralph Jodice, Jr., of
Florida.The family will receive friends on Sunday,
August 16th from 3-5 PM in the Brunswick Funeral Service
Chapel.
