IN MEMORIAM

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Patrick J. Falvey, former First Deputy Executive Director and General Counsel of the Port Authority, on Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Mr. Falvey joined the Port Authority in 1951 as a Law Assistant and served the Port Authority in various capacities in the Law Department, becoming General Counsel in 1972 until retirement from active service in July 1991.

He also served as an Assistant Executive Director beginning in 1979, a Deputy Executive Director in 1987, and First Deputy Executive Director in 1991, and served as Acting Executive Director a number of times. His contributions were recognized by the Board of Commissioners several times, and he was awarded the Port Authority's Howard S. Cullman Distinguished Service Medal in 1982 and again, with Oak Leaf Cluster, in 1991.

Pat is survived by his wife, the former Eileen Ryan, and son, Patrick Jr. He was 82 years of age at the time of his death.
