						Obituary - Joseph A. Johnson

						Joseph A. Johnson, 
						77, died Aug. 30, 2008, in the Norwood Terrace Health 
						Center in Plainfield.  Born in Carteret, Mr. 
						Johnson was raised in Westfield and at the time of his 
						death lived in Scotch Plains. 
						
						Mr. Johnson served in the 
						U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War and was employed 
						as a policeman with the Port Authority of N.Y. and N.J. 
						for 20 years, retiring in 1979.  He then worked for 
						the Millburn Board of Education, retiring after 15 
						years. His son, Joseph D. Johnson, predeceased him in 
						2004.
						
						Surviving are three sons, 
						Darryl Johnson (Kim), Chris Johnson (Dolores) and Eric 
						Johnson; seven grandchildren; a brother, Clifford 
						Johnson, and other relatives and friends.
						
						The funeral will be held 
						on held Sept. 5 at the Rose of Sharon Community Church, 
						Plainfield. The viewing took place Sept. 4. Interment 
						was in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Arrangements were 
						by Browns Funeral Home, Plainfield.
