Lillian M. Baran Port Authority administrative assistant, 85
Mrs. Lillian M. Baran (nee Pershyn), 85, of Clark died on
Friday, May 15, 2008, in the Clark Nursing and Rehabilitation
Center, Clark. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to
attend the funeral on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at 7:45 a.m. from
the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home, 211 Westfield Ave., Clark,
thence to St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, Carteret,
where a Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 9 a.m. Interment is
in Clover Leaf Park Cemetery, Woodbridge. Visitation is on
Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Parastas Service in on Monday at 8 p.m.

York City, Mrs. Baran lived in Cranford for 32 years and in
Clark for the past 12 years. She was an administrative assistant
with the Materials Division of the Port Authority of NY/NJ for
over 41 years of active service before retiring in 1989. Mrs.
Baran was a member of St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox
Cathedral, Carteret, and a member of the Sisterhood of the BVM,
1995-1996 PGRM Order of the Amaranth, State of N.J., the Arbor
Vitae Court No. 40, OA, the Azure Chapter No. 87, OES, past
Mother Advisor Azure Assembly No. 40, ORG, past president of the
Port Service Club Port Authority NY/NJ, and a past registrar of
the CGW Girl Scouts.
She was the
beloved wife for 21 years of the late Metro J. Baran (1967);
loving mother of James Baran and his wife, Patricia, and Martha
Kamichoff and her husband, Curtis; caring sister of Theodore
Pershyn and his wife, Helen; cherished grandmother of Alicia,
Michael and Andrew; treasured aunt of Ann Marie (Amy) Mark and
Andrea (Alex), and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests donations be made for diabetic
research to either the Amaranth Diabetes Fund or Marie L. Waters
Permanent Trust Fund for Research, c/o 33 Golden Seasons Dr.,
Lakewood, N.J. 08701.
