Executive Director
LGA mourns the loss of Joseph
Szuderski
The LaGuardia Airport
family lost one of its best with the passing of Joseph
Szuderski - “Suds” - on October 17th. Joe was a
long-term employee of the Port Authority, with 32 years
of service. At the time of his passing, Joe held the
position of Operations Group Supervisor (FS4) in the
Airport Operations, Security and Services Division (AOSSD).
Having started his career
at LGA, and after spending the last 23 years in AOSSD,
Joe had become a true bastion at the airport, and
particularly within the Operations team. A generally
quiet, introspective man, he was widely admired for his
thoughtful, friendly demeanor and keen intelligence, and
routinely ribbed for his quirky support of the Baltimore
Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals, and Washington Redskins.
All of us at LGA, and all
those within the Port Authority, the airlines and other
facility tenants who worked with Joe, will sorely miss
our great friend Suds!
