Subject: Obituary Advisory, Al Bloch

I just received a phone call informing me that Al Bloch passed away Thursday, July 26th while up at his Vermont summer home in Craftsbury Common, Vermont.  Al bought some farm property there about 50 years ago and I recall him commuting there every summer for 3-day weekends from the office. 

Al was 83 years old and a good friend and mentor to many PA engineers.  He worked many years as a structural engineer in John Wilson's Marine Terminal Design Division with me.  His wife Florence passed away about two years ago.  I will miss the lunches we had each year as he drove up to Vermont from Florida where he lived in his retirement years.  May he rest in peace.
