					Mass for Chester B. 
					Yaszczemski, 74, a longtime attorney and Harrison's town 
					prosecutor for 28 years, will be Monday at 9 a.m. at Holy 
					Cross Church, Harrison. He died Wednesday at home. 
					
					He was born in Mocanaqua, PA. 
					He lived in Harrison for the past 40 years. 
					Yaszczemski graduated from Seton Hall University and New 
					York School of Law. 
					
					He was a police sergeant in 
					the New York and New Jersey Port Authority Police for 22 
					years. Later, he became town prosecutor of Harrison for 28 
					years and maintained his own law practice in Harrison for 30 
					years. 
					
					He was a member of the 
					Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Grace Council 402, Post 340 
					of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 282 of the American 
					Legion, the New Jersey State PBA, and the Retired Police 
					Association of New York State. 
					
					He was a member of Holy Cross 
					Church, Harrison, and of UNICO of Kearny. 
					Yaszczemski was also a member of the state Bar Association 
					and was a past president of the West Hudson Bar Association.
					
					
					He was an Army veteran of the 
					Korean War, serving from 1952 to 1954. 
					Surviving are his wife, Pearl Ascani; two sons, Dr. Michael 
					and Eric; a daughter, Anne-Marie Yaszczemski; a sister, 
					Christine Carpinetti; two daughters-in-law, Karen 
					Yaszczemski and Sue Yaszczemski; and a son-in-law, Paul 
					Zarbetski. 
					
					Condon Memorial Home, 
					Harrison, is in charge.
